Welcome to Manywa initiative for children
We are Grass-root organisation based in Manywa, Uganda, that is combining
education with sustainable development to improve the life quality among the region and make them financially
independent.
Our initiative started operations in 2018 with the opening of the first fully free school for the community kids,
then through a noble group of donors we have the opportunity to dig a borehole to provide clean water for the
village, a remote region without any available service.
We have received the help of around 10 volunteers who have stayed to worked here so far, forming a small
community of international solidarity, networking, and providing services especially in the field of education,
sustainability, and development. Our international volunteers are assisting our local staff members in the
implementation of our programme lines.

The NGO Manywa Initiative for Children will follow an eco-sustainable structure; where the main source of energy will come from solar panels and a biodigester. Now is in process the construction of a compost manure to manage all the organic residuals to transform it in organic fertiliser. We are reducing at the minimum the use of all no recyclable products, at the same time reusing every time is possible and recycle all the others who offer the opportunity.
Examples of the green non formal jobs of the MIC Centre will be bakery chefs, organic farmers, rug weavers of banana stem material, mats of plastic recyclable straws, production of bricks form plastic bottles, among others. This learning will go through practical workshops where they will learn while producing, and this will be complemented with business and entrepreneurship courses, aiming for the independently expansion of the students.
Another income source of the MIC centre will be a programme of agriculture sustainable courses, following ancient valuable knowledge of the buganda tribes combine with modern organic techniques for the environmental efficiency of the soil and their products.
The MIC centre will operate with a base of national volunteers from the region, but the main impact will go by international experienced volunteers who decided to offer their service for a few months in the areas of their profession. The centre will include a set of rooms for the accommodation, meals, and basic services for the MIC team.
In a few words... MIC centre will be a free programme of sustainable development for the region!
